Picking Out Hold Backs

So I'm getting ready to sell my babies and I'm picking out some male hold backs. I'm hoping for a red bodied chameleon and wanted to get some opinions from those who have had baby red bodied panthers. They are 4 months old.

First this is a male, right?

Would you think this would be a red body? All my other males are beautiful greens and blues but this one I'm just not 100% sure on.

From what I've seen, this looks to be a female. It does not have the characteristic hemipenal bulge.

Looks male to me. Depends on the lineage, because if he has blue bar parents who don't have a lot of red, he might just be partly red. He seems like a red bar, but that could of course change with age, and he appears to be getting some yellow? Definitely a handsome little guy.

Very kind of you to offer but I'll have to decline that fine request. lol.
I tend to agree with you being a late bloomer. He doesn't look like the females and most of the males look like the sire, second pic. The first pic is the sire to the female.
Should be exciting seeing his colors come in regardless.

I'm not sure where the breeder got his sire from for the dam. It was a monthly reptile show in Illinois. I picked her up almost two years ago but she makes some pretty babies.

I love his color combination! My opinion is that unless you have another male that you decide to keep instead, this guy would be interesting to see his colors as he grows. You have some gorgeous lineage in your chams!

I am planning on holding back another male, for a while, to see the colors come in and keep track of the coloring from the pairing.

If you can tell me how to pick the young males out with the colors you desire, please let me know!! I've been trying for 25 years.

I am not 100% sure yet, but it seems like the males who have really dark bars with the rest of the skin being much lighter (when they are younger than 3 months old) seem to grow up with a lot of red in adulthood!
