Photo Shy

I am amazed at all the great pictures people can show of their chams, but my little guy is so afraid of getting his picture taken! I just want to show him off to everybody

It could be that he is just very shy- if he notices anyone in the room near his cage he will tilt himself behind the branch or behind the leaves. He does not appreciate leaving his cage, either...
I've only had him for a month and a half; He should be almost 6 months old.

My question is- How do you take his picture?

have u tried just placing your hand in front while he is crusing his cage.....then after he walks onto your hand pull it out of the cage and take pics of him on your hand!!

There is no definitive time table. At some point he may just warm up to you or maybe not. I have a 6-7 mos old who does the same thing. Some days hes out and about his cage while on other days he prefers to eat and hide...lolololol.

Haha yes I have, but when he is on my hand, he'll lean so I can't see anything but his eye!
I tried doing this with another person holding the camera, but he got stressed and turned brown

Yeah i'm going to condition him to my presence.. each day I'll get closer to him until he just stops hiding from me. So far it is working- I have successfully opened the door without him jumping under a leaf!
