Phishing?

So, I was on Facebook and then all of a sudden three messages popped up and then all of a sudden I was kicked off Facebook, they said that someone else was either hacking my Facebook account or phishing. I am now suspended from Facebook for that, but what exactly is phishing? I really hope I don't want to make another Facebook..

Phishing is a way of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. From wikipedia.

Basically sounds like someone is trying to hack your profile so they kicked u out before it could happen?

God, this is getting ridiculous... I've changed my password three times since it was suspended and I've done everything to get back in and it just takes me back to square one to reset my password..

Id give it a day before trying to access it. IMO.

Make sure to have https in the URL vs. http. The S stands for security and you're less likely to get phished.

id check you computer for keyloggers too. thats how your passwords and such sometimes get stolen

I know of some people who have lost a lot of money, and other things because of not knowing they had a keylogger on their computer, and put credit card information, passwords, and other personal information onto their computer. I'd suggest running a virus scan just to be safe. Also- I'd do what Melric suggested, use "https", as it is a secure log in.

I would run every test I could on my computer, except for the fact it's owned by our school system. Another one of my friends had the same issue at the same time I did. It did get sorted out. I changed my email and passwords for everything I could.
