:)I have been thinking about getting a panther and wanted to know your personal thought on each kind.

List the type you have had and what experience with it..(attitude, handling..etc)

In your experience.. which panther is the easiet and calmest to work with and handle..Thanks

Ooo... i'll be keeping a close eye on this thread :D I've been thinking about getting one too.

Could i be cheeky and ask if you post a pic too, if thats not too much trouble or just describe the colours :)

Within the panther species, there is only the locale that differentiates them. I don't think any keepers will say one locale or another is any different from the others when it comes to personality. All of the husbandry practices will also be the same any panther.

Nosy Be, Ambanja, Tamatave, Ankaramy, Ambilobe, Diego Suarez, Nosy Faly, and Sambava...each chameleon will have his/her own personality.

I was just seeing if one had better experience than another. I know that they all have their personality but I posted because I wondered...since people are always complaining about veiled attitudes and not panthers..I figured I could ask..

Man I thought this was a pizza thread! NOW I'M HUNGRY! Lol

Ambilobe - most are docile and there is a wide variety of color selection
Nosy Be - for some reason all the males i have had are grumpy, color selction I like are the "true blues"
Nosy Faly - MY FAVORITE! male is very friendly eats out of my hand and BEAUTIFUL coloration
Ankaramy - Docile, I dont like the coloration until they are completely colord up with the teal spines and the deep redish pink body
Tamatave - I do not have any yet but this it a very desired coloration for me because the redish/orange/yellow gets mixed in the pure white SOOO cool

Hope that helps!

Thats what I thought when I made the title lol Yumm:p

I will keep all you said in mind and I don't really care to have a full blue cham..but if you have had great experience with a nosy faly..then maybe I could do that

I don't think anyone can say that one particular panther local are more docile then others. It's just kind of luck of the draw.

My 9mo Nosy Be is awesome!!! so friendly. never bit me or even flared up at me once. Eats out of my hand no problem. just a great personality.

My 5mo ambilobe is a brat. He's hilarious and eats out of may hand no problem, but he hates anything to do physical contact. Even if i just out my hand in his cage he fires up and would def bite me whenever given the chance. if fact hes bit me quite a few time.

Yeah my ambanja I had was a laid back cool cham. He would gladly hand feed and come out with no worries. Now my faly male, hes a real ba--ard. Hes bitten me numerous times and flares whenever i get in his cage to clean. But I kinda like the mean grumpy ones they have real personalities, and hes actually pretty docile outside of his cage. So its just luck of the draw.

Well, I only have my sambava, but I've also met my friend's sambava many times as well. My male wouldn't puff up until recently, and even now it's a bluff for a few seconds before he stops. He'll eat out of my hands no problem, and he will even crawl onto my hand with a superworm bribe. My friend's sambava on the other hand is a meany butt! She tries to bite me and puffs up when ever I see her. She's better to my friend and will hand feed, but she is loaded with personality even though she is a bit little for her age. She's a beautiful terra cotta orange-red color though.

i don't think u should believe that one locale is tamer than another. that seems silly.
