parasites

the other day when i bought crickets i was out of my normal cricket gutload, so i put lettuce in there. after a couple days the letuce started to smell, badly. then i noticed little maggots in there. today i saw a poop from my chameleon, and i had some fuzzy white around it. im afraid it might be parasites. i cant afford to do a fecal test on him, and my mom thinks im a hypocondriac. if this is parasites what can i do to treat him? and could the parasites have same from the maggots? again im not exactly sure but if it is, what ways can i treat him? plz help!!!

The maggots were more likely from the lettuce. Could the poop have been old, sitting in the cage for a few days?

Well regardless you would need to do a fecal to find out what KIND of parasite it was.
Im sure theres a vet around you that would do it cheap, Ive been told even a cat and dog vet know how to do a fecal for a reptile.
SO I wouldnt worry if you couldnt find a cheap reptile vet to do a fecal for you.
I know they can be as cheap as 15 dollars.
You dont NEED to bring the reptile in to the vet office to get a fecal done so there wouldnt be an appointment fee, youd just drop the fresh poop off.

After you find out what kind of parasite it you could get the vet to give you the medicine to treat it.

maybe im not sure how long it was in there, it couldnt hae been in there more than a week. and i know it wasnt his first poop after i cleaned it last time.
also i just cleaned it and scrubed everything down just to make sure it was clean.

I have seen poop mold over in a day or two... I don't think it has to do with parasites...

Have a fecal done if you are concerned. If he does have parasites I wouldn't be blaming the lettuce, it might have been from something else.
