I've always assumed that every color morph/locale variation of panther chameleons has been a result of inbreeding throughout Madagascar's history. So if a person were to do a DNA test between two individuals from the same locale, they would come back with some relationship to each other, and that relationship percentage would be based on the size of their range and statistics.
Using this logic, smaller islands like Nosy Be, Nosy Mitsio, etc, would statistically show a higher relationship between individuals than larger locales.
