So, my son has taken responsibility for feeding my cham over the past few months. apparantly he waits for the cham to load his toung and then sticks a bug to it. When I saw this was what was happening I told him to make the cham shoot his toung. He now refuses to do so. He gets frusterated and actually trys to grab the bug with his hand. Any suggestions? The cham will not shoot his toung. He loads his toung and then pushes his head toward the food.... that's all he will do.

If yor son has been feeding him this way for months, it sounds like your cham is getting lazy, assuming he doesnt have a tongue injury and has been supplemented properly.

put the bugs in a deep cup and let him go. heʻll start using it eventually.
