At what age should I put a lay box in for my female panther? She is around 5 months old now. Also what is the best substrate to put in it? Thank you.

Females can start to lay around 6 months old, some will, some wont, some may never lay, but getting them to not lay can be hard. Some people on here have had females that havent laid until they were over a year old.

Find jannb's blog on laying bins, it can help, but for now, washed play sand taht is moist enough to dig in, but dry enough to dig thru, will work just fine,

I would put a container in with her now just to be sure you don't miss the sometimes subtle signs of needing to lay.

I've just bought her a bigger Reptibreeze so I will put a laybox in with her straight away when she moves. What do you all use for layboxes?
