Panther Cham has bloody nose

My resent ly squired Cham has a bloody nose for the second time in 2 weeks. My rep vet said stress. I'm looking for other ideas as I'm very worried about her being unhappy. She is 2 years old and never bread. Her humidity is 50-60% and we mist her 3-4 times a day. She has a warm spot that is 75-78 and the rest of her enclosure is 68-70 ish. She has UVB and real plants. She is eating dubias, crix, and the occasional horn worm or super worm. She is NOT rubbing her nose on things. The blood is coming out of the nostril it's self. No abrasions. I got her April first and so far she has gotten progressively more stressed. If I cannot relieve her stress I need to find a new home for her where she will be happier. I have spoken with her previous owner and followed his recommendations to alleviate her anxiety and have had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
I am sorry to hear your cham is ill. I have never heard of a nosebleed before like that. I would like to comment however on your basking temp. That is a bit low. I would raise that up about 5 degrees or so. I know keeping the females at cool temps can help them to not produce eggs. It just seems awfully cool to me.
 
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care? Female 2yo got her 4-1-12
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon? Daily
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders? Dubias crix loaded with repashy and superfeed
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? Dusting with reptvite daily and calcium 3x a week.
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking? Filtered water misting 3-4 times a day for 30-40 sec?? Till screen and plants are dripping. She also has a water bowl by heat source for added humidity.
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? No tests yet. Poo is green and white. Looks like bird poo. I think it looks good
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you. No

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? 18x18x 24 screen with artificial vines and real pothos
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule? 65 w black light back top corner. And 12/12 hour timed uv light 2.0
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps? Lowest in coolest part 65. Warmest in warm part when sun hits her cage is 80
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity? 50-60% misting and heated water
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind? Pothos
Placement - Where is your cage sunroom with other reptiles located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?bottom is about 3 feet of floor. In a corner. Near non drafty window. And plants
Location - Where are you geographically located? New England. Mass.

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about. Bloody nose.
 
Acouple of things need changing but still cannot say they have anything to do with the nosebleed. Get rid of the black light. You need a WHITE housebulb 60 watt or so should do and get your basking temp around 85 or a little lower. You need a 5.0 uvb, not a 2.0. Not sure who gave you that info. What is reptivite? you should be using a calcium with no d3 at everyfeeding, a multlvitamin twice monthly and the calcium with the d3 twice monthly also. Feed your crickets some fresh fruits and veggies along with the repashy. Is the Repashy the bugburger you are using for gutload? Is your cham eating plants and stuff that might turn her poop green? Is she drinking? 30 seconds may not be long enough to stimulate her to drink.
 
one other thing? Are you sure your humidity gauge is giving you a correct reading? The reason I am saying this is because I know when I used to live up north when it was very dry I would get nosebleeds. So does my mom. But only when it was dry in the winter. Just a thought....
 
That was my original thought last week when it first happened. So I upped the mistings and dripper. But the gauge reeds 40 in the am at first misting. Then is 50- 60 for the day during the mistings. It is very dry right now up here. I have been humidifying the air in the reptile room to maintain humidity. She was such a live when I got her and she seems so misserable now. I feel awefull. Our Jackson's is very happy!!
 
I will swap the bulb and try to get the temp up a little with out going too high as I was told they don't like being to warm. I feed the crickets and dubias. Kale carrots oranges spirulina pears sweet potatoe. Any veg or fruit we have left after feeding the Bunny's iguana and parrots. Lol. I will double check the uv when I get home. Could be a 5. That's what all my other reps have. If its a 2 I will swap with a 5 tonite. When I mist her she laps a little but seems to really like the pipettes. I put cool water in the dropper and drip it on her nose and she opens right up for a good drink. This is 2-3 times a day. I have had her 21 days and I feel I have done my best and done what people tell me too and I'm not making progress with her. She keeps going dark when I look at her she hides behind the vine. It's sad. No one should live in fear.

Is it "recently acquired" or "recently squired" as in, has been with a male? I'm guessing the first, but I don't like to assume.
 
Is the blood from one, both, or either nostril? And are we talking about red red blood, pinkish, any yellow or green? And quantity--- gushing, dribbles for 5 minutes, or you've seen the dried remnants?

I've never heard of a chameleon getting a bloody nose before. Odd. Your temperatures and humidity don't sound so off the mark that I would expect that to cause something like this.

Is it possible it could be from an injury? My guess would be "no". If it was from an injury, I'd probably expect a little blood in the mouth too? Maybe if you see his nose bleeding, try to look in the mouth as well?

Is there a herp vet that you can call and ask about this?

No injuries
And it gushes for a few seconds then dribbles for a few mins then dries.
It is bright red blood. No boogery discharge.
Poo is very dark and resembles a bird poop.
 
I called my local hero vet and was told sounds like stress. Bs. We have limited her handelling and started giving her water via pippette. Wich is less stressful then misting for her.

it's not stress, at least i really don't think it is.

still need to know--1 nostril, both have bled, or both bleed at the same time?

and when you say the poop is dark, are you talking almost black dark?
