Pale Spots on the crest of my Veiled Chameleon

They should prescribe silver sulfadiazine cream to apply to the thermal burns if they don't give you something you need to ask. You want these to heal so they do not lead to infection.

I would suggest you fill out a husbandry form with detail along with pics of the entire cage and UVB so we can help with anything that might be incorrect from the prior keeper.

Wow that’s wonderful thank you! I’m in the process of getting a new cage, going out looking today. I know what is has it too small and he has likely been in this his whole life (2 years)

Looking on Facebook Marketplace and other second-hand shops will usually give you a great deal on big cages (just make sure properly clean it)! I’d also recommend reading through every module and listen to as many podcasts as possible from The Chameleon Academy, they have the most accurate and up-to-date info out there!

Also, take out all fake plants ASAP, as well as the Exo Terra vines, both can cause health issues. Veileds need live chameleon-safe plants only (that are properly cleaned off beforehand, and all of the soil in the pots are covered with rocks too big for him to eat), real vines (and fake vines without leaves that aren’t Exo Terras if needed), and multiple species and diameters of tree branches (just none that are from toxic or sap-producing trees). Here are two great cage set-up links, a great cham-safe plant list, and other great websites besides The Chameleon Academy, along with two great feeder insect and gutload charts:
