Over thinking?

I've had my cham for about three weeks now and everything seems fine, but since I have no prior knowledge of chams I'm not too sure what to expect.

I've seen him eat everyday. I've caught him drinking as well just not as often. He's very active, which is surprising to me as well because I was under the assumption that they just hang out on a branch most of the day. When I get home from work I catch him basking under the UVB bulb.

And according to the scale at the vets he has gained four grams in three weeks. Oh and is still recovering from a RI. Have not heard any crackling or popping either since meds were given two weeks back.

From all the research that I've done I've seen that chameleons in general are delicate pets. And because of this I think I might be overanalyzing things. Just to be one the safe side though, I thought I'd ask the veteran owners and to put in the simplest form possible...

What do chameleons do on a everyday basis?!!!!

They climb, swing, bathe, sing show tunes, watch YouTube, eat, drink, chase their tails, ponder life and what "Ifs", wonder if being a monitor really is as cool as it looks to be, fondly wait for us owners to return and hand feed them.........

Oh, yours is probably wondering why your over thinking things......lol....j/k congrats on helpin the little critter get over the RI....that can be tough sometimes

lol...well, that sounds like Kukui.

Kukui's day, in a nutshell:

8a: lights turn on, first mist.
830: His lights finally wake me up and by that time, he has moved from his "night time" branch to his basking branch.
9am: He gets 5-8 crickets.
901am: he realizes that the crickets are now in the cage.
10am: he finally decides to do something about the crickets...like eat them.
1030-noon: He wanders around the cage, making sure everything is exactly the same as it was yesterday.
noon-230pm: spends most of the day running away from the mister and dripper
230pm: decides that running away was a bad idea because now he's thirsty.
3pm: is done drinking. Look for the crickets he didnt eat earlier.
430pm: find the crickets...hanging out near the basking lamp. Decides that eating crickets is "lame" and, instead, has a party with the crickets near the basking lamp.
5pm: one of the crickets says something rude, so he eats them.
530pm: chases the crickets with some water
6pm: Mommy usually comes home and the first thing she does is say hello
601pm: decides that mommy's face is waaaayyyy to big and there are better things to be doing than staring back at the person staring at you.
602pm: wonder why the big face is still looking at him.
603pm: goes to the opposite side of the cage from the big face.
630-730pm: snacks on the fresh greens and goes chameleon work outs - reach up to the hanging greens, grab some, reach down. repeat 10 times.
8pm: grabs a few more drinks.
830pm: lights out.
831pm: asleep.

Yep, pretty accurate lol
They definitely move around a lot more than any other reptile I've owned. My ex-roommate's beardies just sat under the light all day long unless there was food in the tank. Same for my geckos, they mainly just stayed in their hides except for the little time it took them to hunt down their crickets. Chameleons have been much neater to own and watch!
