Hey Guys and Gals, I'm sorry for my long abscence.

Peanut has been well, she has continued to grow into a lovely and healthy Cham.

She has just laid her first clutch of infurtile eggs, I am so proud of her, it all went smoothly without any hitches :D She is back to her old eatting and drinking habits.

Im sorry for the crappy images, used my phone camera. Will get some decent images soon.

She laid 59 in total, i had a good hunt around to see if there was a little one laying around to make it an even number, hehe

I feel sad, i dont want to throw them away

Welcome back Gary and Peanut! I have missed your posts and pics of Peanut! Glad she laid ok for you. :D It amazes me how they know what to do! How old was she when she laid them and how old is she now? Amy is possibly working on her first clutch - she's now 10 months old!:D

I think we worked out that Peanut is 3 to 4 weeks older then Amy :D

I've missed your threads and pictures too, im currently working through the back log to catch myself up... i have to say Amy has grown into a lovely looking girl and Tommy, you were lucky there Misses!! :D

I was very impressed with Peanut to be honest, she is so laid back! She was digging around for a couple of days, eatting and drinking (albeit much less than normal) and then spent a couple of hours down there longer than normal and then she was literally making a fuss for attention like she was done and wanted a drink and food.

My dad said about doing something creative with them, but surely the eggs would go bad :( eek!

She looks good although that was allot of eggs. What's her temps and how much do you feed her? Also what is the light for in her cage? Is that a basking light? If so she could get a bad burn.

What is a good clutch size? I thought that was really good considering some of the numbers i've heard on the forum.

She has 3-4 sub adult locust a day, I give her 1 or 2 cold days a week where she is misted down as normal but i dont offer her any bugs and her basking bulb remains off. Her UVB is kept on as normal though. She has a wax worm on a sunday as a treat.

That is a basking bulb in the snap, a 25W bulb which keeps a 80-83 basking area. Peanut is unable to reach the bulb, lay next to it, rub up against it. She's never had an issue before with it, but that doesnt mean i dont keep my eyes open :D

As for the eggs, im not sure what im going to do with them. Blowing them out sounds like a lot of hard work, hehe
I might have to do an internet search, creative crafts for small eggs, hehe

I wrote the article jannb referred you to. I have had veiled females live to be 6+ years old without ever producing an egg. When I do have them reproduce, the clutches are usually in the range of 20 eggs.

Ive got lots of ideas......

freeze dry them and use them as shoe studs
colour them with nailpolish for earings
glue them around plantpots , for a mosaic pebble look
decorate photo frames
colour one black and play solitair

hope you have fun .:D:D

Well, Sandy, you are either snowed in or bored out of your brain, or both! :D
