Actually someone did notice it and as I mentioned earlier, the bowl at the bottom has NO water in it. My kids were NOT poking at the cage. It was the first time they have EVER seen a chameleon eat in person so they were pointing at him and watching. My kids know how to respect animals, as they have been raised with them. We live on a farm and they are around animals on a daily basis..small and large, delicate and hardy.
This is not my first chameleon, we had a large Veiled male for 6 years another male for 5 years and a female for 2. It has been a few years and I needed a refresher.
Thank you everyone for all the great advice! My little guy is all settled in and seems to be very happy! I will definitely try to offer him some greens to keep him from eating the pothos and/or dirt.
