Is he eating the potho? I keep being told every single time I mention a potho that if they keep consuming, it will release enough toxic as he eats it....Anyway if I was you I would find a way to hang a plastic lid from a ranch dip bowl or some food bowl you once you used. Put all kinds of greens on it daily to see if he eats them. (mustard, collard, kale)
That is what I was told to keep him full from eating dirt or potho.
(was also told to get rid of red bulb. I am using 34w soft white house bulb now)

As far as everyone said, you need to change is.
-carpet
-red bulb
and I seen something no one seen. What is the dish at the bottom? if its water take it out. um if its a food dish then raise it.
Also sorry but don't have to much traffic as it causes stress. (seen your kids poking at cage)

Actually someone did notice it and as I mentioned earlier, the bowl at the bottom has NO water in it. My kids were NOT poking at the cage. It was the first time they have EVER seen a chameleon eat in person so they were pointing at him and watching. My kids know how to respect animals, as they have been raised with them. We live on a farm and they are around animals on a daily basis..small and large, delicate and hardy.
This is not my first chameleon, we had a large Veiled male for 6 years another male for 5 years and a female for 2. It has been a few years and I needed a refresher.
Thank you everyone for all the great advice! My little guy is all settled in and seems to be very happy! I will definitely try to offer him some greens to keep him from eating the pothos and/or dirt.

Yes, just to watch them be so fascinated watching him was great!
Today is our third day with him! Yesterday morning I went in to check on him and didn't see him, so I left for a bit figuring he was in the plants hiding. Came back still didn't see him so I put some crickets in waiting for him to come down and eat...nothing. Then I started to get worried, so I looked all around in his cage, in all the plants and everything. I started looking around to make sure there was nowhere that he could have gotten out of, didn't find anything. After about 1 1/2 hours of looking I started looking high and low around the room. NOTHING.
So I just stopped and looked up and there he was coming down his vine to eat his crickets He was in there the whole time. Just shows how camouflaged they are and their ability to blend in to remain unseen!
