Open Mouth

Why does my female veiled chameleon open her mouth and leave it open for awhile? She only does it when she is under the lamp. The temperature where she is at is 86F. Anyone know?

It's pretty common for them to regulate their temperature by doing this.
I usually give Kitty and his enclosure a good misting with the handsprayer to cool everything down.
You could move the lamp higher or lower the wattage of the bulb.
The young ones like it a little cooler.
Nothing to worry about though.
