Ok so Rex was pooping and at the end was a piece that wouldn't come out. He walked up and down his branches trying to get it off. When I looked closer I see something hanging out that almost looks like a super worm. Does anyone know what this is and what I can do?

Oh No.jpg

This is not the birthday present I had in mind.

Sometimes my geckos do this and it's usually just part of one of their sexual organs or Colin or something, but with my geckos it goes away in like a few minutes. But if it doesn't I'd take him to a vet, somebody else might be able to help more though

WAIT!!! I didn't get a close enough look! That looks like a wax worm or super worm! If you can maybe get tweezers and gently try to pull it out?!

It does look rather like a wax worm or similar feeder. They can pass through partially digested, as I found out with my first female - I fed her too late after laying and the waxworm reappeared half digested in her next poop. I would maybe give him a long misting session to encourage him to poop the rest out. I would be very cautious in pulling that out it's not something I would be happy doing. On the plus side, as traumatic as this is, at least it isn't one of his hemipenes hanging out - now that would be panic stations for sure!

Enjoy your first plug. Rex is showing his manhood. You can always help him by pulling on it. Be easy with him and don't hurt him.

Well, I gently pulled it out after misting with warm water and here is what I got......I am thinking super worm. I gave him 2 in the last couple days and we dont normally even feed him these. It is George's fault because we only bought them after George was refusing to eat.

You are correct it is a super worm. Darn if would have been a lot more fun for you to have to remove that first sperm plug.:D

I am glad you got it out - what ever it is... when I first saw your post I was like :( - now I am like :confused::p
these silly chams - may not be the birthday gift YOU had in mind, but because he can not drive and get to the mall, he gave you something else - a heart attack - lol I am glad he will be ok - :)
