Older Chameleon ideas

One of the chameleons I’ve rescued is at least six years of age. He is now struggling A little bit to swallow roaches. It just takes him a long time and I’ve decreased the size I’m feeding him. But he’s still a fighter even though he doesn’t move much anymore. Otherwise he’s super healthy, I just notice it takes him a long time and I do pre-kill them , as they get older I’m just looking for tips that help to make their lives easier if you can share Thank you

Thanks and yes I raise silks and bsf do they need more warm of a cage or should I stick with the same temps.... he seldom leaves his basking light of 85- 87 degrees till sleepy time or hunting.

Mine are almost 7. They are ambilobe panthers and both are letting their hands and feet hang when they are relaxing. (I have gotten very helpful ideas from Jann and Kinyonga) I am changing their cages around today. They loose their grip and are hanging upside down sometimes. One is a fat boy; he is having the most difficulty. Im putting them closer to the bottom so they don't break anything if they fall. They climb up to bask. I have 4' tall repti-something brand that is 2x2x4 so I put those mats-that are waaaay overpriced-they have at the pet store. These are catching them when they fall. But I'm still going to move the whole thing down a foot. I have the cages sitting on these large plastic totes. That way I can run water thru the cage all day long. See what I mean? Then I pump it out w this sump pump.

Not related to feeding but to help them get around you can add ladders along with your branches. You can buy parrot ladders or make them from branches and zip ties.
