ok, i'm thinking i need a lesson on keeping/feeding superworms.... what's this about their bedding, oat bran?????
thanks,, lisa
Well this is how I do it....I am down to 1 cham so I dont need many superworms at any one time.
I keep them in a large deep plastic tupperware container....I dont bother with the lid as its deep enough and they cant crawl out.
The container is filled half way with oatbran (around 5 inches deep) and I also use oatmeal if that is around.
If you dont have a deep enough container just use a deep lunchbox with holes in the lid for air and moisture to escape and keep them at room temperature. The oatmeal bedding should be a couple of inches for them to burrow. I keep mine in my office/cham room.
They don't need to be refridgerated....I did that once and they died.
Everyday I just remove the old fruit and veg and replace with a few pieces of carrot, apple, kale, collard greens etc on the top for gutlaod and moisture and they surface and eat that. I also mix a little bit of cricket crack into the oatbran bedding.
I like them....they are simple to keep and I have had no problems with them....as long as they dont get too chilly
