Oh no Lilly

I recently have placed my Female Veiled into a new atrium cage from "DragonStrand" (Thanks Bill :)) . I noticed over last few days her hugging one side of the cage and she seems extra grumpy . I have never had issue with her hissing or lunging until now. She usually would come to edge of cage when it opened for food. Now she gets black dots all over and puffs up and if I get close she hisses. She also seems to want to be away from the light which concerns me even more now since she needs these things. I know I should just give it few weeks till she gets used to her new cage, but wonder if anyone else has experienced this before?

Sounds like she's still familiarizing herself with her new home. My friend who recently moved her juvenile into its' adult cage went through the same thing. I think once they recognize their new home and claim it as their territory, they mellow out.

i would say if it gets like 78 degrees and up in your house that could be why she doesn't want the lights. generally their basking area should be 85-95 but my veiled doesn't like it that hot. i shut his head lamp off now if its 78 or up in the house. Leaving the UVB on because it doesn't emit any heat. they definitely do not like change.. could 100% be the cause of her attitude. i started out with the largest cage possible to avoid stressing and spending extra money i didnt have but if i so much as move his plants around he gets pissy and will flee to my head.. do you know how hard it is to rearrange the foliage in a chams cage, while balancing the chameleon on your head? so not easy. he totally didn't get the memo. but he makes a very nice natural head dress :p
