Nosy Faly drama? Let's write a script!

Forum member DanSB introduced this topic in one of the infamous Nosy Faly threads: What a great novel could be written around some of the drama in the Chameleon world. And I think it's true.

We can write the book together, scene by scene. Or maybe it should be a movie script?

Here are some ideas:

The story line would be international, including exotic locales.

The main plot would involve guns, smuggling, protecting endangered Nosy Faly, and, of course, drugs.

Subplots could take place in different continents.

There would be a male/female love interest. They would meet "virtually" online on a chameleon forum, but meet in person for the 1st time in Madagascar during an exotic holiday that goes bad. She would be from America and he would be from Europe, or visa versa. Unbeknownst to her he would be a secret agent of some kind.

One subplot could include a tender family, with young children, who adopt their first chameleon and so the audience sees how special and important chameleons can be to everyday people. This "normalcy" lays a foundation for the importance of the chameleon industry and also offers a counterpoint to all the exotic drama that follows. But the family gets caught up in the drama when their new chameleon is confiscated by authorities due to import issues. The dad, a lawyer, ends up (in a convoluted and tricky subplot) teaming up with the secret-agent-leading-man as they fight together to overcome wrongdoing.

Somewhere in the story, instead of the traditional and colorful "chase through the overburdened stalls of a crowded marketplace in the Middle East" there could be a chase through the overburdened booths of the crowded Daytona reptile show. The chase could be between the Department of Fish and Wildlife law enforcement and our leading couple and the lawyer guy.

Throughout the book the reader is left wondering who the bad guy is- the authorities or the leading-man-secret-agent.

Any more ideas?

Ha haa I love your ideas!

I was thinking something more similar to A mighty Wind, Best in Show, The Big Year etc etc..

A reality comedy that focuses on the personalities.

Lets face it there are some interesting people here and in the animal breeding world in general, we don't really need spies or drugs when we have Jim and Chuck :)
