my 5 month old veiled was eating like a monster and the past week his food has declined for some reason im not sure why..... he looks heathy..his poop is white and always angry... any idea...???

at what age do they start to eat every other day? im beginning to notice a pattern that is matching an every other day schedule...

at no age really will the stop eating unless they get tired of their staple food, get sick, or if a female is gravid may loose or drop appetite until clutch is laid.

veileds are overall pigs and will eat all the time. at 5 months of age, you should begin to decrease the food portions,, but may keep feeding every day for the next couple months. raising females, i will cut down to feeding every other day at around 7 months, but will drop her food portions to about 8 sufficient sized crickets, or the same apx weight in other feeders (in variety)

this is based on what works for me and my husbandry

Possible reasons
  • not hungry
  • bored with limited choice of prey types
  • about to shed
  • inadequate water
  • inadequate calcium and other nutrients
  • low temperature
  • illness
  • etc
They eat every other day when (if) you choose to start feeding every other day. I feed my adults almost daily. Some people feed every second or third day only once the chameleon is near a year old. Its the overall quantity and the weight/growth of the animal the matters more than the schedule.
