Newbie Needs Help

Hey. So, I'm getting a chameleon in a few days from canvas chameleons. I have the cage set up, but have some questions. I live in Colorado where it is very dry and water evaporates quickly. I have wrapped three sides of my cage in a shower curtain which has greatly increased the humidity. The ambient humidity is about 55 percent. The percentage fluctuates from time to 5ime, but doesn't drastically change. The humidity drops to about 50-52 percent by the time I mist again, 2which will encourage him to drink more. I just really wanted to make sure that I'm doing everything right with the humidity. Thanks, and any feed back is appreciated!

It will definitely be more difficult for you to keep humidity up since you live in CO..but, there are ways to combat this. The shower curtain was a good choice to start off with. Now, fill the enclosure with live plants. This will help maintain humidity. Plus, you want as much surface area as possible for lingering water drops...so make sure the misting is really hitting the plant leaves. Also, you can get a humidifier. I like to use to the cool mist humidifiers myself. Considering winter is upon us, if you're able to keep your enclosure at 50 - 55% humidity and you'll be diligent with the misting's...I think your cham will be just fine.
