New Trioceros perreti

Hey all!

I've been waiting for some time to get these guys in, and I'm happy they finally are here! They are so awesome! They do not look bad for recent imports; of course, they have bumps and scratches but I am very impressed by how good they look. They ate and drank a ton after putting them in their enclosure.

The female is gravid, so I am hoping to get eggs soon and if all goes well I hope to trade bloodlines with Mike to establish more bloodlines for others to work with.

I apologize for the bad pictures, I took a few pictures quickly so I could get them in their enclosure so I could leave them alone.

I think the female may have a slight case of edema, what do y'all think? The first three pictures are of the female, the other two are of the male.

Wow, those look better than any I got! Nice job. Yes, she looks gravid.

I'd post photos of mine but most are way to skinny to show off just yet and one of them is getting force fed and watered, so prospects don't look good for her.

Congrats and good luck with them!

Sorry to hear you are having issues with that one, Mike. I'm extremely happy with these guys, and already really like them. I'm hoping to get eggs soon, but we will see how long it'll take.

How are all of your babies doing?

Nice! It is driving me crazy seeing these cameroon species come in at the worst possibly time for me. Furnace then car. Hope fully I'll get a chance again.

That always happens :p

Patience is a virtue though :)

Yeah. They look solid in contrast to everything else I've seen around them in this shipment. Good luck!

Most excellent. Very shy of the camera though. I can't seem to get a good photo of them yet. I've taken lots but they come out horrible because they look all stressed out and hide behind the branches. Frustrating...

Dang, I'd love to see how they've developed thus far. Hopefully you'll get some good pictures soon :)

I noticed that your thread got moved. That happened to me a few times at first too. I realized that if I just posted photos with no other genus specific information, it would be moved to the photography section. But if included info like how many eggs, gestation length, or even weight or measurement of said species, it could stay in the genus section.

Good luck with your new chams, that male is a stunner!

Thanks! I didn't realize how small they would be. Especially compared to my hand; that's part of the reason my girlfriend held them for the pictures.

I'll keep that in mind when I post more pictures. They are so cool to watch, and they're really hard to find in the plants!

Mike- have you fed yours blue bottle or houseflies? I'm thinking about getting some, not too sure which to get because according to the person I am considering buying some from, the houseflies are about 3x smaller

No, I have a weird hangup about breeding flies. I'm ok with flightless fruit flies but the bigger ones give me the creeps. Don't know why. I just know they'd get loose and scare the crap out of me.

Lol! :D Made me laugh that Mike.

Very nice Chase. Agree with Mike regards the male, he looks fantastic.

Regards the blue bottles, i say give em a go. Judging by the size of your girl friends hand, i'd say they should manage them ok. If you find a few larger ones, then just give em to something else. I have recently purchased a smallish, WC male T. j jacksoni. He goes bonkers for em. I just leave a small bottle top in the hatching container, containing some pure honey for them to feed on, once they have hatched.

But you'll grab roaches :p

I'm trying to find some different feeders to use so I don't have to go to the local shop every other day :p

Thanks for the compliments :)

Ok will do. They are only 7 for 500, not too bad compared yo other feeders

I am so happy you have your perreti. I hope you and Mike can get something going. It is working well with my partners.

Are you going to share with me where I can get these? I won't order right now, weather you know, but I would like to have some.

I am hoping so too; I was really hoping to get a gravid female, so Mike and I could get some that around the same age.

I originally bought house flies for my flapneck when I got her - she was about the same size at 3 months - but she liked them so much she was eating the bluebottle's that I had gotten for my bigger guy/gal- before she got much bigger- the bluebottles last longer - once you hatch them and before you hatch them in the fridge.

Congratulations on the new additions !
