New to the chameleon world

About 1 month ago I was given a female veiled chameleon ( roughly 7 months old ) that someone could no longer keep due to not having the time for her.
Below is her transformation while in my care for a month.
View media item 40433I've done a great amount of research and everything is going great so far. But my two main concerns are
1. The white sutff currently forming around her nose.
View media item 40436I've eased up on the repti cal without d3 incase this was the problem and no change so far. Suggestions?
2. She is currently eating 12-15 gut loaded crickets daily, yet i always find her munching on the plant inside her cage. Could she still be hungry? A local pet store told me her growth is delayed due to past care takers which is why I am feeding her that amount.
This is her inclosure

I've heard the white stuff forming and coming out of their noses is just salt. That is how they release salt, and the calcium is not the problem because the crickets should be dusted with the supplement everyday without D3. My Chameleon eats the plants inside the cage as well sometimes, they often eat greens which is why the plants should be non toxic towards chameleons. Hibiscus plants are a good plant for chams to munch on as well, hope I was some help! (y)

Hey Lou,
Welcome to the forum, Veiled chameleons are awesome. The white crust around their noses are normal, if it bothers you do some extra misting and remove it with a Qtip . Keep up the daily calcium dusting, females especially need it for egg development. You also know about calcium with D , and a multivitamin twice a month, I rotate Saturday's ? ,UVB lights ,basking lights . At 7 months you'll need to get a laying bin setup soon also she will lay eggs if breed or not. She should have a vet visit sometime and may help get her back on track, next time you find a fresh poop put it in a plastic bag and place in the fridge, have your vet do a fecel parasite test done.
As for your Cham eating leafs that's normal for Veilds ,you should be offering veggies or fruits and some flowers are edible also.
Variety is good for your Cham. The adventure is just beginning. Keep reading ! Good luck,
Dave
Any pics ?

Can't see a pick, but if she is setting under her heat source it's completely normal that's how they digest their food.

She looks a lot better. I can see all the picture on thread just fine by the way.

My girl is about that old now and I'm feeding her every other day. She's already laid her first clutch. It was a nightmare so I'm trying to keep her from doing that again as long as possible. I give her about 10-15 large crickets or a combination of feeders. The truth is she'll just keep eating if I don't control it. She also eats a lot of cilantro that I put in there to keep her from eating so much pothos. Sometimes I switch out the cilantro for basil. Occasionally I give her banana and other fruits.

She is looking good. I can see the pictures now as well. I don't think her setting there is a problem as long as she eventually goes to her basking area to digest her food. She is lucky you found her. :)
