He still is really grumpy think its getting worse! :( He tried nipping at me when i was trying to take him out so i could put the ficus in and again when i tried to put him back in.

Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you! He seems to be liking it. Hes roaming around a lot. Hopefully he will be nice to me now that i got him a new plant! :p

More plants would be nice and also your basking branch under the light seems too low and far away to me. What is your basking temp?

looks good to me. i wouldnt think you need to change the height if your temps are at 85

Ill try an putting a little closer, gotta wait i little bit to get some $ before i get some more vines though! What kind of basking bulb do you guys use?

I use a 40 watt and my basking branch is about 8 inches down from the bulb, but what really matters is your temp. So if you are achieveing 85 degrees at that length then you must be using a higer wattage? As long as it is hot enough for him to warm up and digest his food then you should be ok. So are you saying when you hold your temp gauge on that branch way down the temp is 85 or under the light it is 85? You want to take your temp where your cham will be sitting to absorb the light.

I have a temp gauge, no gun though. But i moved the branch up a little the gauge says its a little over 85 is that to hot for a younger veiled? It is a 100wt lamp. I figured being up north my house dosnt stay very warm so i would need that.
