Well the pictures of mine are pretty close up but yours does sound smaller than he should be. He should be eating about 10 pinhead crickets a day at 2 months. Mine gets annoyed with misting too but switching to warm water seems to have helped with that. Also, setting up a dripper helped A LOT with the drinking. If the water drips in a consistent spot he'll know where to go to drink. Of course make sure that whatever you have catching the water is not accessible to the chameleon because they can drown in it. Oh also, you have to be careful when reaching in their cage to get them. They don't like it and will hiss and possibly bite. There are some good ways of getting them out of the cage without putting them under stress. I put the crickets in a bowl and feed them to him, which seems to have helped him get used to me. Now I can slowly move my hand under his belly and let him walk onto it. Eventually you should be able to tell when he seems like he's in the mood to come out (sitting close to you, coming to the front of the cage, not puffing up at all, etc.) It's better when they're closer to the outside of their cage so you don't have to reach too far into it. The further you reach in, the more easily they get defensive.
If you post this in a new thread with pictures people on this forum will be able to help you with your set up and maybe help find the problem, because if he's dark all the time it means he's stressed which isn't good.
