Hi I am new to, well everything. I've had my panther chameleon for about a month. I did a lot of research before actually buying him and I feel like I'm doing most of it right. Although I'm sure there are things I could prob improve on. Anyway my question is why is he still dark after a month. The only time he brightens up is when he sleeps or eats. He is 5 1/2 months old. Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Crickets, superworms, hornworm, butterworm on occasion. 7 crickets got new ones in and they are small(2 week) 3 superworms about 2 hours after light comes on. Gut loading with gut loading mix and alternate between carrots potatoes and apples.
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule? Repashy calcium plus daily, zoomed repti-calcium with d3 1xweek, rep-cal Herptivite 1x month
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Automatic mister on at 9 every 3 hours for 1 min. At 9 I also had mist to get good coverage. I have seen him drink several times.
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

Zoomed small combo UVB repti sun 5.0 and basking light is 50 watt lights on at 8am off at 8pm
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
88-72 basking is 83 lowest overnight is 70-72. Measured with several analog dials and a digital I also have a infrared thermometer.
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
80 on the bottom and 60 on top after misting analog hydrometer
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Umbrella and pathos
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
In the master bathroom vent closed. Cage is currently sitting on the floor. Will elevate it soon.
Location - Where are you geographically located?
