I am new to the Cham world but have done my research (reference books, "chameleons in captivity" and many online sites including screameleons) I am the owner of a 6 month old Panther Cham. When I got him, the previous owner had him in a glass exo terra enclosure and had a running waterfall for his drinking water (bad!! bacteria!!). Since receiving him I had changed to a Large Reptibreeze screen enclosure and use a habba mister. I have been running into a few problems lately however, the glass held the humidity well at 60%, the screen barely reaches 40% now. Living in Ontario Canada makes that difficult. The habba mister although it sprays the plants (one pothos and the rest being fake), after only one mist the paper towels i have placed on the bottom are soaked. the water then ends up leaking out the bottom of the reptibreeze because there is only a flat base. the mister also hits my furniture being that it sprays through the screen, so i am having two thin, sheets of plexi-glass cut to cover a small portion of the back of the enclosure as well as one side to prevent the spray, but still keep good ventilation. I also have a 60 watt blue basking bulb that makes the basking spot around 87F, but dries the leaves of their water very quickly. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions and if i'm doing alright. It just seems that even tho i have ben following instructions and doing everything 'right" i still keep running into problems.
Thank you for your help!
