New Little Guy

Hey all,

I finally got my new guy last month and figured it was time to post up some pics... I got him from Tom about a month ago.. He was two months old and eating fruit flies and pens. He was way smaller than expected. He is a blue barred ambilobe. I haven't really decided on a name yet, but am leaning towards Marius. I will try to get some more pics tonight or tomorrow, as he has grown a ton in this past month. He has moved up to some larger crickets and had his first dubia last night.. He seems to be doing great and has adjusted perfectly... All pics attached here are from last month.

Yes the glass exoterra is temporary. But it does provide enough ventilation as is is not the standard glass cage and is vented.. I looked into using it as a temporary setup, until he gets alittle bigger and I can get him into his full size enclosure.. I went back and forth on the exo, but after seeing some good evidence of some users using them solely, I figured it would be ok to use as a temp home.

just lookin out for you and your little guy. glass also keeps the temperature and humidity differently than screen obviously, so make sure you monitor those well.

the exo-terra works great for smaller or younger chams. if you live in a colder climate (im in canada) then there are acctually benifits with regards to humidity and temps. i ve used one for almost a year now and it works great.

Yeah I keep a constant eye on the temp and humidity.. And yes being in Ohio, it has helped with maintaining the proper environment, so it seems to be working well for the time being... And heck, have the time i have the doors open on it... But thanks for the looking out for sure, it is appriciated and I knew I would get some comments on that..

Congrats!!!! I think everyone else has covered concerns. Wish I still lived in GA more humidity and sun lol!!

4 month update

Little Marius is doing great.. Feasting on crickets and dubias.. I need to get some more worms or something to try out and see how he likes them... He is starting to get some color, and is gaining some size, which is good, as he was so tiny.. But anyways thought I would share.
