New Enclosure and Lighting Question

Hey,

I have this new enclosure for Flash. Well kinda new, I got it from a guy off craigslist who was giving it away. The two sides were enclosed with glass and the back wall didn't have a opening, so I cut one.
Its officially his big boy cage. It measures 4ft wide, 5ft tall and 2ft deep. The two sides and back are covered with screen. I have a bunch of sticks, but I'm waiting a couple of days so the sun can dry them out. I cleaned them. I will also be adding more vines.
The front has 2 sliding glass doors. The black you see the edges of the glass is electrical tape, because that glass is sharp. I got cut 7 times just taking it out of the package, so I decided it would be best if I put electrical tape on the edges just in case he grabs the inside edge of the door so he wouldn't get cut.
There's a drainage area, bottom left which connects to a value which lets me clean the cage easily.
There's a hole on top of the enclosure for the heat lamp, its all good to go. Temps and humidity are good. I placed the UVB light inside the cage. I didn't want to have to cut a hole on top for it.

And finally the question, lol.
I just wanted to know if he would be to exposed to too much UVB, since it's inside the enclosure with him and there isn't any mesh filtering some of it.

Also no, it doesn't get wet when I mist.

If it is a 5.0 there is no chance of him getting too much uv. I use 10.0 in my cham cages and 12% T5 high output bulbs above screen as the 5.0 doint give out loads of uv.

Nice cage!!! I highly doubt it that would be too much. What about the people who free range and hang the uvb's? There is no screen between them. ;)

Nice find!

You can fix that edge on the glass ez:

real fine sand paper and and a lot of time....

air line from petsmart or any aquarium place, slit it one side as straight as possible. Then put a little silicone on the edge of the glass and slide the hose over the edge. it will now have a soft edge! You may have to tape the hose on the glass as the silicone sets up.

or...

leave the electrical tape on it.

Why can I never find deals like that on Craig's List when I look? I would love to have found that cage for free! Looks good.

Nice find! You can also take the doors to a glass shop to have the edges polished. It should be sweet when you're done.

wow. I have been searching craigslist for something similar to that and willing to pay. great find, looks fresh.
