Well I got a start on my new 2x2x4 cage for doug. He is my 3-4 month old veiled. Ill be getting some more plants and branches for him through out the week but figured this is enough to get him going and out of his glass enclosure. I have a 40W bulb for basking and a reptisun 5.0. I made the pepsi bottle for feeding, Not sure how well it will work. Also i have a small ficus in there now, does it need any special lighting? thanks for any info. always looking to improve!!

congrats on the cage. glad to see you are trying to make improvments. you can get special lighting for your plants. i usually go to walmart to get them. i prefer not to use them tho because they tend to bump up the temp in their enclosure, but that enclosure is pretty big so it might work for you. they have special light fixtures for 2 tube light bulbs, one for the uvb and one for the plant bulb. but i just have extra plants and swap them out when the ones in the enclosure seem to be drooping or needing sun, i take them outside and put the ones outside inside.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the bulb is i need? I might get some extra plants anyway for when i clean the cage so i can just swap them. Ive also noticed my cham usually has white on his mouth. Ive herd its just a way of getting rid of excess nutrition. But it seems pretty regular. Is this ok?

the bulb is a 6500K grow light. They sell them at home depot. I don't know about the white on the mouth but I have seen it around the nose(not on my chams) but on here and it is nothing serious, just excess salts or minerals that it is thought to be.
