Hey Gang,
I'm a new cham owner and wanted to join the community to say hello and get any tips and tricks I can to add to my Cham's enjoyment. Its a Veiled Cham, I guess I will start will describing my setup and go from there.
I have a a Reptibreeze chameleon kit with a screen cage measuring 16x16x30. It came with a 60 watt basking bulb and 5.0 UVB 15watt bulb also. I have a logs, vines and such in there with a live plant (the name escapes me) that it is on the veiled cham safe list( swapping it for a hibiscus when the plant place gets it in). I swapped the 60 watt for a 100 watt as my cham is very young/small and I read the heat should b e a bit higher at that age. I'm going to hand the mist the tank 3-4 times a day( based off humidity and drinking habits). I have a plastic sheet over the back to avoid spraying my wall.
I live in Canada so with the winter temps I found it a tad hard to keep humidity up so I did get some EXO-Terra forrest moss to help with humidity. I plan to bowl feed crickets to her (I assume it a her until I see spurs or the bump) due to the moss and I know some ppl say it can cause issues if digested.
I just got her home and in her new pad, obviously she hasn't moved to much as I'm sure she got a bit streeded between the drive home and being put in a new place.
Due to her being so young i'm currently trying to keep the tank at 75ish and 85ish in basking area. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
