New Carpet

Thump

Hello! I wanted to introduce myself as a new Cham owner. My carpet's name is Prince Adonis. He is approximately 5 months old. I have had him a week today. He is adjusting well. He scared me a few times when he fell from unsteady leaves but he seems fine. I'm sure I could use more vines, plants, leaves but I wasn't sure how much was too much. There are pics in my album. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I wanted a live plant but the size of the enclosure is 16x16x20, and a plant may make things too cramped.

I love this website. It's a wonderful way to promote proper care of these amazing animals.

Pet Paradise in VA Beach. They do not breed them so I'm not 100% sure where they got him from, and yes I did ask.

Humidity?

Can someone tell me what humidity level is appropriate for a young carpet Cham. I have no live plants in the enclosure and I think it's a little low (49-54 normally).

That should be fine as it will spike with mistings. I would consider getting a live plant as it will make a huge difference.

Lateralis can be very active. When you have extra cash I would invest in a bigger cage. 16x16x30 would be the minimum I would go with. With the extra height you can put a shefflara in no problem.
