New Carpet Cham

So the manager of the pet store where I bought my veiled gave me store credit or another free chameleon of my choosing. Well, it turns out they had a very nice looking carpet chameleon and his enclosure didn't use a coil bulb. I watched him for a long time to see how he behaved, he was staying nice and high in his enclosure, he was not gaping, his eyes stayed open and alert and he had beautiful colors. I decided to take him and now he is basking underneath his reptisun 5.0 tube to get some much need UV exposure. He seems very healthy. I have included some pictures below, tell me what you think. I relied on my own research and came up with the conclusion that it is a male carpet, verification would be great.

Got some good news for you...he's actually captive born, not an import. He was hatched by Mike at FlChams and I raised him from about 2 months old. When all my baby panthers started hatching I decided I needed the cage space and traded him in, otherwise he'd still be here. Take good care of him, he's an awesome little cham! Glad he finally went to a new home.

Really!??! Thats great news. We will definitely take good care of him, he's in a great home.

Glad to hear it! It was hard to let him go but he just didn't fit into any of my projects. Here are a couple old pics of him:

I have read that carpet chameleons survive up to 3 years in captivity. Anyone have any carpet chams that have lived longer?

Cool Carpet Cush!:)

He looks good, hard to believe he came from the same place, or mabey you got him just in time.:) I'm sure he will do great in your care.;) I know Ryan has a pair and they were kick butt! Good luck mate. :)

Hey thanks a bunch! Ya he is a great looking cham, he was super thirsty when I got him in his cage, but other than that he seems healthy. He is really obsessed with doing the leaf walk :D, he thinks he's super sneaky.

I didn't pay for him syn, read my first post in this thread, that will have the answer to your question.

See how I used QUOTES? How much did you "pay" for him, as in how much was the FIRST chameleon you traded him for?

edit: To whom is may concern: I wasn't being "sarcastic and douchey!" You just misread my post.

How much did you pay for the original chameleon? I'm just curious if you got a deal on this or not.
