A couple new pictures with my new camera (a birthday present to myself).

This is Fancy Pants. He is soooo grouchy. I can't even look at him without him getting all puffed up!

This is Miguel. Definitely the friendliest of all our chams. I feel bad picking a favorite, but....he is.

Great pictures!

I do have a question...
Why did you choose the D60?

Here is some stuff I pulled from http://www.kenrockwell.com/index.htm

"THe D60 is actually a D40 body with a few more card-clogging pixels, a VR lens and adaptive dynamic range, but a slower maximum shutter speed with flash.

The D60 is less sensitive to light then the D40 (its default ISO is only ISO 100 compared to the D40's default ISO of 200). Its less sensitive to light because the pixels have to be made smaller to cram more of them into the same-sized sensor. Smaller pixels collect fewer photons than larger pixels. Since the D60 is half as light sensitive, the D60 has to use twice as long a shutter speed or a larger aperture, which makes it more likely to make a blurry picture than the D40. OOPS!

Save your money and get the D40 instead. The D40's faster sync speed is invaluable for use with flash outdoors, and the extra light sensitivity in normal use will help make sharper pictures. These three cameras (D40, D40x, D60) otherwise, for most users, are identical. Compare them in person and you'll see. Megapixels don't matter. "

If you still have time you "downgrade" to a D40 and almost have enough for a macro lens!:D

Thanks for the compliments!

Vertex: How and where di you get all that??:confused::)

Justin: I chose the D60 mainly for the megapixels and the very large size of prints i can make. I am also a ceramic artist and have been working on a process over the last few years on transferring my photographs onto my ceramic work with perfect clarity. To attain shades of grade I need as many pixels as possible. Being able to shoot nice pics of our chams is just an added bonus :p

Here is an example of a piece I sold about a year ago. Total dimensions are about 24" x 36". Kind of risque...hope no one is offended. If so please feel free to delete.

Also this photo is copyrighted by Lisa Kelly blah blah blah (the orphan works...you know how it goes)

So as you can see I am working very large scale and need every pixel I can get my hands on :)
