New baby panther!!

Hey so I went out to IBleedcolors today to pick up the new little one... Were almost positive its a male but maybe some veterans on here can tell better... I know its a bad pic but I wanted the little newbie to get acclimated so I'm virtually leaving him alone right now but I just misted and he's already dimming his black (saddest thing ever :( ) and drinking off his leaves :)!! I already love this little guy and cant wait to see when his bars come in... Oh he's an ambilobe (forgot that part)

I added a picture of his enclosure for kicks.. Ficus with the usuals, reptisun 5.0, 60 watt bulb WITH DIMMER for those worried Nancy's... Basking is at about 83 right now... and a nice smaller food bowl for the little one with PLENTY of vines and twigs for the roaming which he's already doing very well

:eek: Woah! He's so tiny! You may want to keep an eye on him to make sure he can find food in that huge cage! Bet you'll have fun trying to spot him in there, lol! :D

Its a member on the forums lol he does have some more... I believe two females and another even tinier male...

@ Miss Lily I already am having fun... he's cruising close to the UVB right now rummaging through the leaves... and I definitely am keeping an eye on him... I placed a few crix in there and I've been checking... Ill be checking at lights out tonight again and hand feeding tomorrow if he doesn't take to the cup

Good news as well; Mt female is digging. Should be laying anytime!
 
You should keep him in a smaller enclosure now in the begining cause he needs to find the food in that huge world there. Also you want to leave him alone as mutch as possible now so he don't get stressed out. NO HANDELING him other than if you need to when cleaning.
Otherwise you will learn that they after lots and lots of patience one day will walk out on your hand by him self, and he can stay in the livingroom tree by the window basking in the sun.

You are definitely correct about needing alone time and the space but for my last guy he went in a 24x24x48 and did awesome at only 3 months... Eac cham is different but you are definitely right! I just got that cage with the cham XP

is that a pic of the lil cham in the car on the way home??? if so...sooo rad!!..i love those moments!
 
It sure is :) like 12 seconds after picking him up... HE IS SO TINY!! in the fiances words "He has a big head and little arms!!!!"

Right now were freaking out because the crickets are like .1" too big :((( So I had to rush deliver 1000 quarter inchers from reptilefood.com and Jose (IBleedColors) is hooking me up with a few to last until the shipment comes in... For tomorrow I have to feed off my very scarce mini dubias... Didn't see this part coming /:
 
Im picking up 1/4 inch crix from Jose tomorrow night... I have 15 very small dubias and I am free roaming them in the cage and hand feeding to get him going.. He's drinking GREAT though so Im not too worried about him I just felt so bad when I hand fed him a cricket and he spit it back out when he couldn't chew it down :((( I did everything I could but he just wouldn't eat... But Jose fed him earlier today and very well yesterday so I think he'll be okay for tomorrow
 
you could try....chopping up the cricket? I cant promise hed take it though... sometimes tehy only want them if their moving =[[
 
Yea he is directly responding to the movement.. Once it died I tried that and he wouldnt take it /: even the feelers on the little dubias pricked his attention so he is definitely a movement chaser
 
Have you tried maybe.... cutting off the head with the whiskers still on the cricket and holding the part of the cricket by the whisker and letting it dangle side to side? When my crickets will loose their legs from being mauled I wlil do this and my chams still go after it XD
