Nature Walk

I went on a nature walk today with a friend and found a snake.. I didn't think about it, i just pinned it down and picked it up. Anybody know what kind of snake it is? I'm thinking Garter. It was not aggressive.

Aww wittle chamnerd got terrified Probably is a garter, when I was around eight I found one in my back yard, I thought it was a stick and picked it up, started playing with it...
