There is someone on here with a naturally brown veiled chameleon. I forgot their username though.
Usually dark colors are present due to stress or the wrong temperatures, though. So if your chameleon is brown all the time and does not act stressed or lethargic, it's probably just dark skinned.

ill see if i can get a good one of my male hes a dark green with like almost bronze stripes he fires up really right but when hes chillin hes like a dark forest greenish turquoise base color...hes my rehab project and still new so he tends to stay towards the back of the cage behind all the plants..makes it hard to photograph but he coming around lol
