Nasty Water

i use r/o water and solves all my problems

Exactly. If your water is as bad as you say (even though it's technically drinkable) a Reverse Osmosis filter installed on one sink faucet is your answer. There are small volume under-sink RO units that can treat and store a gallon or two in a few hours. More than enough to keep your reservoir cycled and you can take it with you if you have to move. I also find that using RO water in my humidifiers, misting lines, drippers, cage plants, plastic cage sheeting, glass terrariums, etc. really keeps them cleaner and I'm on untreated rural well water that is full of iron, calcium, and who knows what else (amoeboid cysts, naturally occurring arsenic, tannins, and sulfides). Best thing I've ever gotten for this house and my pets.

This might sound crazy but i boil my water to make sure there is no bacteria and store it in a 5 gallon drum. I use it to fill up my mister, lasts about a week for me and no problems yet.
