My Solution for Humidity

Winter can be brutal and hard to keep humidity levels up because of heating your house. My solution is pretty simple and works for me. I purchased a Cool Mist humidifer at Walgreen's for $40.00 put it in between Cabo's and Rocko's cages, made a tent to keep humidity in and covered the cages. This way the central heat cannot blow on the cages sucking up all the humidity. The opposite sides of the cages are not covered. During the day same thing except I only cover part of the cages. This way the chams have a choice of the humidity side or non-humidity side. Not to worry, these humidifier's are great in that they don't make everything drippy wet as long as you don't point the steam directly in the cage. My humidity stays around 50-60% all day and night. It's also keeps the cages around 65-70 at night while the rest of the house is warmer. :D

Keep me updated on how this works! I may just have to go that route when I put my guy in the room he will be staying in. Right now to keep baby "needs a name" panther warm he is in the bathroom. I run the shower a few times a day and mist his cage as supposed to several times a day. I have no heat in the room he is supposed to be in s until the warm up he is in the bathroom. He seems to staying warm and doing okay, temps are holsing but humidity not as good as I would like. I can't wait to handle him sometime soon for a few minutes but right now he is getting used to his surroundings and I am letting him do just that only going in to feed and mist.

I've been doing this for about 3 wks now, it works great. Do you have him in the "aquarium" or did you block off part of the cage? You do have his UVB lights and basing lights in the bathroom right?

Thats good and I may have to try this instead. Yes his lights and things are in there with him. I kept him in his cage and watched him some. He ate and drank so I just decided to let him stay in his mansion and get used to it on his own.

Humidy

Hi All
I have been using the same process for years I've attached pixs. I also use PVC pipe to pump into numerous cages. They are set on timers and go off every six hours for 1 hr. at a time. ;)

Do they see eachother at all? It seems easy enough. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Sorry for the late reply, since Rocko's cage is higher up then Cabo's, they only see each other if Rocko goes down to the bottom, which he rarely does. Suprisingly, they have seen each other and my panther just looks at Cabo while Cabo blows himself up and starts to twitch which is his terroritory sign. The upper half of the tent is drooped down so they can't see each other.
