My panther chameleon stops here nearly all day

I have recently got a new wooden vivarium for my female panther but she keeps going into the same spot and I'm just a bit worried as she stops a dark colour all day but when I open the viv she goes a beautiful bright orange, I just want to know the spot she is in is it ok for her as it's very close to the uvb bulb. Also she doesn't seem to be eating a lot as her poops are small and there is the same amount of locusts every time I look. Here are the photos

I don't wish to sound critical but it's really bare and provides little in climbing options and even less in foliage/structure your cham can hide away on/in/behind to help it feel secure.

The spot chosen is high and covered by the side and top of the viv, about the best hiding place available in that setup.

Providing far more climbing and hiding opportunities will help overall wellbeing and maybe a happier little girl will eat more as well, especially if you provide a varied, well gutloaded diet.

I don't see any sign of a lay bin in your setup either. This is really important to have for a female.

Please take a look at the care sheets https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/panther/ and particular read down for female care.

I see the enclosure is woodenish.. so like others said burning from lights a high possibility. An easy fix is to add a screen or mesh a few inches below the lights to block off the top portion where lights are.. (staple it or something)

I do like the look of your enclosure but yeah add some more branches or vines and maybe another plant. They love the opportunity to find a comfy spot on multiple heights to regulate
:)

Chams hate change! She’s just grumpy because her entire world was just flipped upside down. All the behavior is normal for a chameleon that just got a new viv. She will return to normal in the coming weeks.

She says in that spot because it is where she feels the least exposed.

Her dark coloration is because she feels vulnerable. Adding all the branches and plants the previous members suggested would remedy this quickly. Large live plants with lots of foliage would allow her to relax enough for her appetite to return.

How are you watering her?

See I have loads of fake plants but I don't know where to put any for example the long vines at the back I've got loads of them left but I don't know where to put them

If you can provide more vines/climbing structure, you may be able to attach some to them. The real thing though can be easily placed to back and front, the ones at the front will allow your girl to hide out of site.

Try to put yourself in her position, a small cham that wants to stay safe and secure, not be disturbed and definately not eaten!

I'm using a spray bottle, I did have a presure bottle but it broke today I'm getting a new one but 1-2 mins, 3 times a day

Right now your Cham doesn’t care where you put them, she will gladly accept any additional foliage at this point.

General rule for figuring out where and how many plants you need is if you can spot her right away it’s not enough. It should take you a few seconds to see her...

Is this looking better?

Much better, now that she is more comfortable let’s move onto safety! You’ve got to do something about the lights. Best thing to do is move them outside of your viv. If you can’t do that then you need to put in something to prevent her from touching them. As it is now she has some burns heading her way in the near future.
