My new baby

I just got my baby panther from Kamerflage chameleons today - he is a cutie!

I think he's going to be a pistol too - I'd been reading that I should be very careful to let him come out of his shipping container on his own and not stress him - well, he walked right out and into his cage and promptly ate a cricket . . .
I think he may have been cussing a little about being in a box for 24 hours too but I can't be sure . . .

This is a crappy iphone picture but I figured I'd let him settle in a few days before I get the big scary camera out . . . my Senegal leans into my hand when I try to take pictures of him with the big camera - I think he thinks it is a huge eye!

Congrats on your new baby :D. And the pics do that sometimes. If you want i could tell you how to change it to where it's straight up and down again :)

How old is he? And are you sure it's a he? My cham really looks a lot like yours, and people were questioning his gender:p

I've wanted a chameleon for a long time and ended up with my Senegal as a rescue from a hoarder but he was probably wild caught and not well cared for obviously, so as cool as he is to watch he is pretty stand offish (though he will climb on my hand now) - so for about four months I've wanted a baby . . .

I sure hope he's a male - I'm going to assume that the people that bred him know how to gender check them - though I have no clue either way . . . he did get a little scared earlier and flash tiny bits of blue . . .

His sire is Hatsikana who is a really amazing color . . .

He is really fast - I'm sure as he gets older he will slow down but compared to the Senegal he really moves around his cage . . . I think he must have eaten 5 or 6 crickets today . . . I even put two extra in there and he got them too . . . I saw him picking flightless fruit flies off a branch too . . . you can see in the picture that he has a massive little tummy!

Since you wanted a baby I think you scored - that baby looks darling. Bet you and he will have lots of happy times together. Congrats.

He could eat up to 15-20 crickets a day depending on the size of the crickets! So don't be afraid to let him eat :)

Wow! Since I read this post I put a few more crickets in his cage and he went right after them like I hadn't given him 8 this morning . . . I gave him a few more flightless fruit flies too . . .
