HEY GUYS! i got my Veiled today and will be posting pictures of him soon :) hes great! ive seen him eat like 7 crickets today (seen, he probably ate more) and i saw him drink his water from the leaves which was suuuper cool! :) but i felt bad for the little guy :( when he got here he wasn't looking too swell :( and i put him in his home and just sprayed his cage for a solid 3 mins. and he started to drink it up, so i think he was just real dehydrated :( BUT hes okay now and thats all that matters :)

Congradulations on your new companion! and gret enclosure to start with i just got done building mine! but very cool if you have any questions feel free to ask the forum! very beautiful cham hope to see more of him!

He looks great, he was probably just afraid of your camera so he puffed up.

I'm glad he's already eating and drinking, that's really good.

I would probably add some more plants for him to hide though.

Other than that, I'm glad you're happy!

yeah guys! ill have a few more pictures up later tonight (maybe like an hour or so) he is soooo exhausted he crashed like 2 hours ago and he is just hanging out gettin some rest :) poor little guy had a rough day! but thanks guys! i love him sooo much, i honestly haven't ever been this excited about anything before :) it amazes me how light he is now that he is sleeping hes like REALLY light green and he looks super happy!

oh and about the more plant thing, i have some coming in on friday so is that enough for him to hold off on until then? (oh and the stick thing on the left is a branch from outside :) i knocked it down when playing disc golf and thought OH MY GOSH PERFECT!!! i washed it and put it in the oven for 10 mins so the bacteria would come off) :) thanks for all the compliments guys! means alot!

Thats great! i didnt read about how he puffed out at your camera shot but i would aggree he was most likely just scared of it its all fine they go back to normal he will do thesame thing if you put a mirror infront of him for about 1-2 min he will turn brown and puff out tho i wouldnt recommend stressing him out! hes too cute for that! We are glad you are excited by your little guy and hope to see more of him for sure!

I would use pothos there's ansection on here about what plants are safe etc. But with a pothos u can hang it from the top

okay awesome :) thanks for the tips, and how much is organic soil? just wondering? or should i just buy a plant from LLLreptiles.com?

Buy from your local nursery just clean it and repot it in new soil u can get soil from walmart or anywhere really shouldn't be too much at all

Looking good there, you're going to have fun taking him out to play in the sun, and getting various insects for him to eat - I get the impression this is your first Chameleon, have you had other lizards/reptiles before?

okay awesome local nursery c: thanks! and organic soil at walmart! got it! should i put my dripper above the plant so i wont have to water it much
?? and yeah :) first chameleon, im gonna try to take him outside starting next week maybe once a day! :) and no i haven't thats one of the reasons i am so excited about him, its the first little buddy ive had, BUT ive ran into a problem, i think they gave me a female and i ordered a male...ill post pictures of his feet next week so you guys can tell me what you think!

well if it is male he will have spurs on his back feet and yes a dripper above it would help but if your going yo put it above your enclose maybe the dripper should run down on the leaves for better effect

They will just be little bumps on the ankle of the back legs. If there is anything which you think is a bump, which isn't toes, then you have a male. If it's completely smooth you have a female.
