My gravid cham is sick!

Very immature kid he just laughed and said she ate 3 superworms before being shipped out! He lied im trying to save this poor girl

yeah that is what I said, but he seemed like he didn’t care and it seems like she was just left in a cage w nothing to eat or drink! I tear up when I am holding her she is clinging to life! My poor Pearl😭 I can only imagine what she is going through fighting for her life and trying to produce that calcium for her eggs it gets me very mad ! Yes the vet did give her fluids and I am injecting her every 3 days. Everyday I feel like im loosing her even more. Yes the temps here are about 70. She has no strentgh to even be in a 18x18 she fell one time frm the branch. Took her to the vet rhey said she was not harmed you think I should get a carrier and out her in their w a light? I don’t want her to keep falling. 😡
I would report their profile and behavior. MM tends to not want abusive sellers on their platform.
Screw this guy.

Yes, definitely put her in a hospital bin. It’s just a plastic bin with a plant (preferably something with vines, like pothos) that she can hold on to and drink from and maybe a small branch or two for her to hold on to. If she is needing additional heat during the day, be very very careful to place it far enough away so she won’t get overheated or baked. Same with uvb. Did your vet take any x rays to ensure that she isn’t egg bound? I don’t know who is telling you to cut her open to save the eggs, but imo, that is barbaric. Even if she might appear to have passed away, it is difficult to tell with certainty because of their metabolism. It’s usually best to have a vet make that determination if you are even thinking about trying to remove the eggs is she passes. Even vets can have difficulty determining when reptiles have truly passed away, even when they euthanize them.

NO more talk about the dispute with the seller or seller information. This does violate Community rules. https://www.chameleonforums.com/help/terms/
Any further talk and this thread could be shut down.

There is a reason why we recommend forum sponsors for breeders of chameleons. These are vetted real breeders that put the time, care, and consideration into their breeding programs.

Got it
I am sorry i just needed advice on what to do with her

According to him he did pair her up 3 months ago w his male so the eggs are fertile
If that’s truly when he mated her and true that she’s gravid, then she’s likely eggbound. They usually lay the eggs about 30 or so days after the mating. An X-ray would show wether she’s full of eggs or not.

The problem is, that if she really is egg bound, at this point, because she’s going down hill, she would likely not survive the spaying, sadly. The vet should be able to tell you if this is true…if he’s a good chameleon vet.

You may have only two choices…keep her comfortable until she passes or have her properly euthanized.

Has she got a proper egg laying bin in her regular cage? Photos please.

My apologies! I don't intentionally want to cause trouble...

I will withhold negative comments...

Please know, you did the best you could. This wasn't your fault, and you gave her the best life possible. 💕

Not intending to be argumentative, but it only says to not name businesses or sellers in disputes (something that has been done here dozens of times as it is). I only bring this up because I’ve had problems with not getting refunds before (not chameleon related) and if you don’t know it’s nice to have someone show you what to do in that situation.

The business name was removed by me in multiple spots when I issued the warning. The thread was violating forum rules by naming the business they were in conflict with. Rather than simply deleting the entire thread and issuing a warning to the OP. I chose to make the edits removing the information so that the OP could continue to get help.

@GreystoneExotics per your comment as well.

Either way, it is what it is.

I dont get protecting the company or persons identity that are selling animals like this. I think it would be better letting people know and might make the seller clean up there s*it.

But on the same hand I do see valid reasons for keeping the information of the form as well. So..... Its a 6 of one & half a dozen of the other, type of situation.

Either way, I do the research and buy from reputable breaders as to minimize the chances of this as much as possible. Even if something arrises from a reputable breeder they are more likley to work with you in that event. Over a transaction like the OP experienced in this thread.

I purchased from a reputable breeder and had a minor issue in shipping. I posted for advice on here without releasing the name (don't want to hurt someone's reputation if not needed) of the breeder, as the issue was small at the time and I was not sure if the breeder intentionally sent an injurrd cham.

Turns out the breeder was super helpful, the issue cleared up and I was sold an amazing Cham

In my opinion..... Staying l silent creates issues and perpetuates breeders like OP outlines in this threaf. And LOL.... I know I am right🤪. Speaking up is always the right thing to do.

Not always in a fashion to put the seller down, but the seller and buyer can either choose to take it as a learning experience (based on how the seller was responding to the OP, they don't want to learn), and do better.

Just my $0.02

Happy days all!
