My gravid cham is sick!

I was shipped a sick reptile! Poor babygirl I have tooken her to the vet they said she was malnourished and she is very low on calcium! I payed 2,000 for the vet bill and she was rdy ro take home but I am trying everything and she dnt look too good! Any recommendations!? they sent me home w emeraid system carnivore. Calcium which i had to pay for about $73 for that and the some shots i have to give her every 3 days .

I would try to hydrate and feed your female Furcifer pardalis. Then I would take your Furcifer pardalis to a vet ASAP.

So was a fecal or bloodwork done? I mean looking at her sunk in casque and turrets this looks more like she has something far more extensive than malnourished. How did they come to the determination that there was a calcium issue?

I would not force feed unless she is not taking insects.

If she was shipped to you being sick and gravid, you should be contacting whomever sent her to you. The stress of being shipped will only worsen her condition and I would think that a responsible breeder would know that (along with not selling a sick chameleon).

So i will post up everything they did to her at the vet but yes a fecal test was done and blood test too… she looks worse then in the picture very pale and sunken cheeks and eyes. I am feeding her with a syringe she can’t eat on her own.Her tongue can’t shoot out and everytime I water her she licks up the water she is also very dehydrated idk how someone can ship a sick reptile like that smh!

I did he refused to give me bck my $$ and said she was not like that when she left

They did to that on her and her fecal testing came back normal , no parasites thank god and her blood work was okay. But everytime I mist her she drinks like crazy but she can not shoot out her tongue and she is also gravid. Yes frm now on I won’t purchase frm no immature kid

I don’t know why and it infuriates me that people think they can just mate their poor animals with little to no care, and then call themselves breeders. True breeders, like those who sponsor the forum put so very much into what they do that goes well beyond just putting a male and female together and hatching eggs.
Your little girl looks horrible and your vet should have given some sq fluids. Are your night time temps below at least 68-70F that you can run a fogger for some naturalistic hydration?

If you paid by credit card or transfer, you can often dispute the service payment with the company you used, and it should be covered by insurance.

I'd also consider sending them a glitter bomb in return... Just saying.

When she’s drinking try sticking a cricket head first into her mouth so that as Moshe shuts her mouth while drinking she will bite down on the cricket. She may eat that way…and you won’t have to stress her out giving her food in a syringe.

yeah that is what I said, but he seemed like he didn’t care and it seems like she was just left in a cage w nothing to eat or drink! I tear up when I am holding her she is clinging to life! My poor Pearl I can only imagine what she is going through fighting for her life and trying to produce that calcium for her eggs it gets me very mad ! Yes the vet did give her fluids and I am injecting her every 3 days. Everyday I feel like im loosing her even more. Yes the temps here are about 70. She has no strentgh to even be in a 18x18 she fell one time frm the branch. Took her to the vet rhey said she was not harmed you think I should get a carrier and out her in their w a light? I don’t want her to keep falling. Windycitychameleons is the person who shipped her

Was she mated with a male? If not, the eggs would be infertile.
