Linear tube lights give better coverage and reach more areas of the enclosure. The Red and Blue bulbs a lot of stores sell are not adding any value to the animal. They are not in the spectrum of light that would be beneficial to them.
Chams rely on their very finely developed full color vision to identify prey, see water, and each other. Colored lights are going to distort what he can see and won't make life easy for your cham. Give them plain white daylight. The lights are for their health and wellbeing and they have to live directly under them day in and day out. BTW, your cage needs a lot more plant cover. Your jax will be a lot more comfortable if he's hard for you to find. They can be very stressed out being exposed to view all the time. They are stealth hunters who rely on being hidden to feel secure. Also, more live plants will help keep the humidity higher which jax need. First and foremost, the cage setup should be what is best for your cham. Your wishes come second. You'll find that chams are very demanding and not very tolerant to what their human wants.
Also lift any heat source away from the top screen! We very frequently see people on the forums posting something like "help, I think my chameleon got burned! What now?" Well, then it is too late and the animal got hurt!
