My first Veiled.

Well after 300+ posts I am glad to say that I just purchased my first baby veiled. Unfortunatly the local store clerk where i purchased him from wasent entirely sure how old it was but its about 2-3 inches in length from nose to tail tip. I think i made out pretty ok with the kit they sold me which included a reptibreeze 18*18*36 cage, a set of plastic leafy plants, a fluckers 5.5" clamp lamp, an 18" 5.0 linear bulb, reptivite vitamins with and without D3, a small blue jar of water crystals and 200 free half inch crix plus 10% off coupon all for under $200.
I had to borrow a hood from my 10 gallon fish tank till i get one for the cham cage tomorrow. I also have some sort of 8" purple bell flower pot and a 10" hibiscus from home depot which im going to repot with some fresh organic soil friday after work and get some exo terra vines as well. I wasent able to get my camera from my brother so no pics till later this weekend. My 2 year old nephew wants to name him Dino Dan but im not so sure about that so ill let him think thats his name between us.
still have a lot of decorating to do, gotta get something to hand on the rear of the cage to keep the water away from the wall sockets but its a work in progress. Right now he is sleeping behind the plastic plants where he ran behind when i started to mist him and is nice and comfy. ive placed alot of paper towels along the bottom of the cage incase he should tumble off. Any and all critizism/advise is welcome.:D

p.s. i already have a dual humidity/temperature analog gauge from petco but im also getting a digital dual probe "zilla" that i won on ebay. also on order is a 4 socket zilla power switch and a power dimmer to gradually control the temps of the basking lamp.

hello again, i just wanted to update this morning that when I woke up @ 6m he was still asleep so i took the opportuninty to place some feeders in a small orange bird food bin attached to his plastic vines and placed him near him incase he woke up while i was in the shower. suffice it to say that after I got out of the bathroom he was awake and standing close to the bin but not going after the crix. eventually he went back to his hiding place behind the plastic plants so i decided to mist his cage completely and let the crix free range around then i went to work.

I called home to check up on him during my 10 am break and my girlfriend told me that he had turned into a mini-velocarapter, busily chasing after all the crix and successfully shooting them all and licking the sides of the cage and a nice shade of green with a black spot by each rear leg. so Im hopeing to get out of work early today so i can go get some replacement soil for his hibiscus and campabella(I think thats what its called) so as to add some more color and humidity to his cage. Hopefully Ill get a chance to see him shoot some crix in person aswell.
