My Exoterra Monsoon broke last week...

I came home to one flooded cage even though it was attached to two different cages. So it decided to constant spray my poor Bleu. He was soaked when i got home and I spent quite awhile cleaning up his cage. I need a new auto mister now and it looks like mistking is where im heading. I wasted 115 dollars on this piece of crap "machine" that lasted a good two months. Bleehh

I should have just got the mistking in the first place. But i was cheap and bought the monsoon on amazon when it was on sale. Turns out i had to buy more tubing anyways and ended up spending more money than i would have on the mistking. haha

Just gonna throw it out there.

One could build a very lavish system, buying parts from a plumbing wholesale house or online for much cheaper.:D

If mechanical ability comes easy, the possibilities are endless, especially for the cost of some name brand systems.

The cost of the higher output diaphram-pumps makes building your own much more costly than a mistking or aquzamp.

Many have tried to make them without using such a pump, and they are always dissapointed in the results.

If you can prove otherwise, Im sure many people, including myself, would love to hear about it.:)

The mistking ones don't say what they are rated for, do you happen to know there gpm/gph rating? Or what you personally use, it would be easier for me to dig up something then.

I use a mistking.

I believe I have there simplest pump:
Voltage: 24VDC
Current: .85 Amps
Pressure: 75psi
Flow: 1.1 L/min
Bypass pressure: 125psi
Self prime Height: 2M

That is all the info I have on it. It is my understanding that it will run 10 nozzles, before there is a decrease in performance (reduction in spray).

I run 3 nozzles on it.

anyone here have the new adjustable rain nozzle that mistking is currently selling? I would like to see some reviews before I buy one or two, to see how they work and how well the area of effect is.

I made one, and did not really care for it.

I dont have the space to spare really with my lighting setup.
That was the main issue.

It was very isolated, and only worked for a small portion of the enclosure.
Im trying to work out alternatives atm.

The best alternative I have came up with, is to have a LOT of foliage, say a pothos, right up at the very top of the enclosure, and have the nozzles aimed at it. The water drips down, creating a rain effect.
