Hi, I'm new to the forum and need help. I bought my jackson chameleon
about 4 months ago. He is captive bead and seams pretty healthy.
However about a week ago I notice that his paws had turned brown.
all 4 of them. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
If you post some pics it can help us to know what's wrong with him.
Sometimes it is obvious from a picture--sometimes not.
To post pictures first click on the "post reply" button.
Then, scroll down below the window where you type your post and click on "manage attachments".
A window will pop up.
Click "browse" and find the pics you want to attach on your harddrive, just find the file and click where it says "upload".
Wait for it to appear, then close that window and click "submit reply".
He seams pretty healthy to me. But this is my first camaleon. Please advise if you think differently. All help is welcome and for sure appreciated. ...
He's a handsome cham but I can't see the undersides of his feet in the picture.
What kind of plants does he have in his cage?
Does he have brown artificial vines whose color may be coming off on his feet?
If the entire underside of the foot is light brown and there is no swelling or anything else unusual then I would just keep watch for anything else that changes.
The forum's Jackson's caresheet found herehttps://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/jacksons/ is very helpful because sometimes people are given the wrong info or incomplete care instructions for their chams. It happens very often.
Also on that page are a number of links to other topics that concern chamkeepers, such as health, lighting, food, water & humidity (very important, especially for Jackson's).
Great news!!!! He was shedding and the brown was just skin that has fallen of. He is nice an green just like I'm use to seeing. Thanks everyone for the suggestions...
