This is my third Chameleon its a Common Chameleon, now he is so sick i had another one he was africanus i think he died with the same disease.
Few days ago he had some problems with pooping, then he stopped eating ( main meal is grasshoppers ) no other supplements & he refuse to eat Veggies, as you all know its so hard to keep a chameleon in Egypt so suck no food to buy & no supplements for reptiles even no enclosure, you have to do it your self, & collect the grasshoppers from the garden, any way 3 days ago i freaked out when i saw his left eye swelling, & i watched him pooping there is something coming out like jelly, and it doesn't go out every time he take it inside again its closer to yellow, i'v called the vet first he told me to give him ( Tetracycline Hydrochloride ) some kind of Antibiotic & for his eyes Terramycin ( EyE Ointment ) the swell is better now his eye looking better than 2 days ago.
Yesterday i took him to the Vet & i told him everything even he is runnging away when he see the grasshoppers, & she told me to give him
1-( Streptoquin ) for Chronic Intestinal amebiasis, Bacillary dysentery & Diarrhea.
2 Flagyl for ( Intestinal antiseptic, antiprotozoal ).
3- Rehydran-n ( Oral Rehydration Solution )
& i told her what about feeding she said don't worry about feeding him right now, we only have to worry now about Dehydration.
that's it i start with him last night hope he will be well soon its so tough to experience another loss, today he is drinking too much, but i still worry about food & supplements, what can i give him?!!!!!! he freakout when he see Grasshoppers, be4 he was loving it so much.
Here is some pictures for ' Botta' that's his name, May God heal him soon.

he dosent look well thats for sure.i would maybe try a shower and a few drops of saline in his eyes but thats all i can think of, maybe a bit of good ole sunshine to help his immune system. you also my want to try and find some soft bodied feeders like silk or butter worm if you can, depending of they type the grasshoppers might even be the problem if you say the last cham had the same problem and if u used the same feeders. maybe put a pick of the hoppers up so other members can see if its a safe feeder

I think your vet may be on the right track with what was prescribed. Can you find some different insects to give to the chameleon? Praying mantis? Moths?
What other insects can you find?

(I'm not sure that's a C. chamaeleon though. I kept some for a number of years and the crest looked quite a bit different.)

He woke up today so thirsty drunk a lot, I'm worry of how much he drink, omg, as he was going down from the plant twice water came out from his mouth like he is throwing up, & he still drink want more is it danger to keep giving him water even if he want?!!!!!!! his stomach looks like balloon, idk worry of how he drink, he don't stop :(

Does he sit with his head raised in the air and his mouth open at all? With the eye edema and the excess drinking, I wonder if its organ failure.

How many of the first type of grasshopper did you feed it?

Will first when i bought him he was sitting but head not raised just mouth open most of day, i think he was doing this just from heat, then he stopped doing this, i didn't see him with open mouth for long time untill today, he opened his mouth several times, but he close it when i mist him, he just sit for a while after i gave him the medicine with his head up, the good thing that i don't have to force him for medicine he open his mouth every time i hold him & show him the Syringe.
About the first type of grasshoppers i just fed him two of this kind one brown & this green one.
I think he look better today, but I'm still worry because he is not eating still, So i will call the Vet today to ask him what kind of supplements can i give him or what kind of food!!!!...IDK..hope he will be fine soon.

:( those pictures make me want to cry. idk if this works but i heard a person with pgymies putting pedialite in his chams water to give them nutrients someone more exsperienced then me would have to say if its a no or go. maybe try getting ahold of chris anderson he is one of the best when it comes to chameleons he might be able to tell you how to solve this problem.
just keep trying to find out more. look stuff up message senior members who have high rateings just keep trying.

I called the vet last night & she told me ( i told you not to worry about feeding him, for now you have to keep him hydrated ) idk I'm doing my best to rehydrate him, but idk if she is right about feeding coz he didn't eat for 5 days, hope he will be fine, hope also if anyone have an advice for me.
This is how he look now

Is that a uvb or just a flourescent? I think its flourescent. Just because its in the shape of a uvb, that doesnt mean it is.... Im not sure if they have pet stores or flower shops in egypt, but if they do, try going to a flower shop. The grow lights they have are uvb.:)

Today i took my Chameleon to the vet, after i finished the medicine course with him, he can't walk now, he has no stability at all, even i feel like he can't see will, the vet told me, that's because he is not eating, & gave me Multi vitamin to him for recovering, but think its not working, time will tell he is dying i think :(

What can i do Multi vit not working, he is throwing up ( vomiting ) & he can't stand, he keep falling every time he try to walk, he is not dehydrated

He should only be getting the multivit twice a month, and he needs a UVB light source!

what can i give him for now, i don't think this Vit is good cause she told me to give him 3 times aday for five days from the Multi Vit, and he didn't eat from about 7 days, what should i do pleas anyone tell me

Since you live in Egypt it must be warm enough for the chameleon to be outside to get UVB from direct sunlight (that does not pass through glass or plastic).

As for the chameleon's health...when you're watering it, you aren't spraying water down its throat or in its mouth are you?

I wish I knew what was going on with the chameleon. I wonder if one of the types of insect you fed it could have been poisonous?

If your chameleon was being fed CB insects then it would need to have a phosphorus-free calcium supplement at most feedings. Most people also give their chameleons a phos.-free calcium/D3 powder and a vitamin powder twice a month too....but since your chameleon has been eating WC insects and been not eating at all for a while, I'm not sure what it would need exactly...but it likely needs the vitamins and the calcium. Although its not something I would feed it for very long (because its not something that they would normally eat and it also has prEformed vitamin A in it) it might take a bit of chicken babyfood. You'll have to be careful that it doesn't get into its lungs though.
