My baby girl is injured!

My boyfriend came home today to find the lid lifted from
Our chameleon's, Percilla, enclosure. She was on the ground
To be extreme upset-almost like she was trying to hiss. I noticed
A couple of gashes in her side behind a front leg and am afraid
the cat may have tried to play with her while she was escaped.
It's has only been several hours but now she is lathargic and the
front half of her body has turned a spotted and blotchy very dark
brown and she hasn't opened her eyes much at all or seem interested
in food or water. What do I do? Please respond with advice!!! How do you nurse an injured chameleon and what is with the very inconsistent coloring!

Pics??

She needs a vet. Keep the wound moist. With gauze and PLAIN saline solution (bout at CVS or walgreens or whatever).

I honestly just joined this forum and was not able to determine how to upload the pictures I took.... Thank you for your quick reply though!

Thank you jannb! I followed your link and I'm afraid I am just not computer savvy enought to know how to get my pictures on the post. (they are simply in albums and I'm not familiar with uploading from a URL. I tried my email and still having issues. Please check back for me as I am very curious in any advice anyone has. I am still working on it....

There is a vet nearby. I am not sure if they see reptiles and are closed for the day today....
sqeekz1992, i hope we can get her all fixed up too! I never thought I would love her as much as i do! i have already cried quite a bit and refuse to let her out of my sight. Your word of encouragement are comforting. Thanks for your input!

Welcome to the forum :) To you and Percilla :) How old is she? And what species? If she's bleeding you might have to put a little pressure on, but a gauze pad would be good even if it's stopped. Make sure the cut is clean, but other than that just cover it.

Oh no! Poor girl.

My only word of advise is not to force feed her any food or liquids tonight. Most people don't know where chameleons have their "breathing hole" in their mouth and will end up putting liquids into their chameleons' lungs by accident, not knowing any better. And if she's in shock the last thing she's going to do properly is eat anything, so I would just make her comfortable, keep her clean, and take in first thing in the morning if she makes it overnight.

I am so sorry to hear this! I hope she is okay!

Not sure if this helps, but to post pics, click on the little paper clip on the top of the box when you are posting a comment. An attachment box will come up. Click on the 'Browse' button next to where it says 'Upload files from your computer'. Then, just click on pictures or whatever folder the pics are in. I'm not sure if that's any better than the link, but if you want to post pics, I think that is the easiest way.

I really hope she gets to feeling better! I am always afraid of Kush getting out and meeting one of our cats.
